The Corpus Christi Hawkwatch is thrilled to announce we now have a new local educator on board this year, just in time for the Fall 2009 season kickoff!

A long-time teacher and public television volunteer, Beth Hoekje (AKA
"The Bird Lady") has been presenting her programs on birds to students from K – H.S. for over 10 years. Beginning September 14th, she will be available to speak to students and community groups about the value and identification of Birds of Prey, the need for conservation and the many local birders who will be counting the thousands of raptors as they make their fall 2009 migration over the Corpus Christi area near Hazel Bazemore County Park.
