Greetings,

Wendy Beard, one of the official hawk watchers, showed up for her
first day today.  She, Cecilia Riley, myself, and two others were greeted
with a flock of 12 Swallow-tailed Kites at she stepped out of the car. This
was at about 1:00 pm. with a gentle WNW breeze.  As the first day watcher
swelled to seven, a group of three then another pair of ST appeared during
the rest of the hour for a total of 17 ST.  Also seen were 20 Broad-winged
Hawks and 18 Mississippi Kites. Other migrants were numerous Swallows, 6
Magnificient Frigate-birds, 5 RT Hummingbirds, and eight BG
Gnatcatchers. The watch ended at 4:00 pm.
If you can halp Wendy at the tower until Zack arrives to complete
the duo on August 22 it would be appreciated.  If so, could you please E-mail
me.  I will be there
on the 15th and 19th.

                                             Thanks,
