Hello again to all!
We're back on the hill again. Day opener scored exactly zero (as in none, as in null, as in too much rain from TS Beryl to fly. Not so much on top of us, but enough around the area to quell activity). Didn't daunt the spirits of our intrepid watchers, though. Watch coordinator Jo Creglow was joined by counters Scott Rush and Tom Benedict (who also wears the hat of educational director). A third counter is en route. Our local red-shouldered hawk, Tex, has been on hand this month to welcome back all comers at the gate, along with the local white-tailed hawk pair (sporting some juvies), and one of the white-tailed (black-shouldered? what is it this year?) kites.
Huge and vociferous thanks to Hawk Watch International for their continued support and sponsorship of the watch efforts. Also to the Northwest Business Association, Central Power and Light, Nature's Bird Center, and other sponsors and supporters soon to be named.
Cheers,
Patty Beasley
