11/11/99
It was an absolutely gorgeous day. There was a coolness to the air coming
off
the bay and the tallows are finally giving us some fall color. We had a
good
sized kettle of vultures that was around for a long while but stayed
high,
hawks that were moving through seemed to come in and join the vultures
and
then go on. "There are three red-tails with them.........now there are
two
Coops up there. There's a Broadwing with a funny wing" On and off for
the
last couple of months we have seen a Broadwing with a kink in his wing,
it
looks like he was shot. I am beginning to wonder if it is the same one.
I
would guess there could be one in the vicinity and it might not get down
to
the tower too often.
Migration is still proceeding, flock after flock of white pelicans went
by,
yellow-rumped warblers and pipits zipped by and the first Blue-bird of
the
fall showed up.
