Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch, Fall 1999
Date:
Hi everyone! Well, here it is; our final day of the official fall 1999 watch. Bittersweet as always ... we're sad to see it end, but very glad to see it end, so the counters can re-generate eyeballs, etc. for the next one! Fernando and Ryan; thank you again for all your help. Joel, as always .... an exemplary job! Here's Joel's final report for the season:
-------------------
The last day of the season was certainly better than the last week or so. Beautiful weather, some good birds, and nine of the dedicated group to visit with. Lots of hugs and handshakes to Fernando and Ryan as they are leaving tomorrow. They both say goodbye to all the great people they met on the watch this season. It is somehow appropriate that the bird of the day was a Prairie Falcon.
In the next week or so I will post a recap of the 1999 season. My thanks to all, counters, volunteers, and visitors who made this a season to remember.
