Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch, Fall 1999
Date: 10-28-99
Hi everyone! Here's Joel's report from the hill:
-------------------
A kettle of Osprey, no not quite but the five we had today all came in
a
short time frame. Hey even two or three in the same bino view is
unusual
here during migration. Pretty slim pickins here as far as migrating
raptors but the residents put on a great show. Several skeins of geese
and
White Pelicans and a few late migrating Anhingas added some
spice.
5 Black Vulture
275 Turkey Vulture
5 Osprey
3 Sharp-shinned Hawk
2 Cooper's Hawk
1 Swainson's Hawk
5 Red-tailed Hawk
Total 296
