Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch, Fall 1999
Date:   10-21-99

Hi everyone,

Here's Joel's report (sorry for abbreviated reports; I've been out of town this week and am catching up tonight with quickies):

--------------------

Compared to the last two days it was very slow. The totally blue skies
changed to totally blue-gray under an Ozone Action Alert. Clouds have been
practically nonexistent and the only way to find raptors is by constantly
scanning with binos. Fernando's eyes finally gave out and he was having
trouble finding anything. We will be on the lookout for the mystery hawk
seen at Smith Point tomorrow. Think clouds!!

709 Turkey Vulture
11 Northern Harrier
5 Sharp-shinned Hawk
26 Cooper's Hawk
5 Red-shouldered Hawk
49 Broad-winged Hawk
9 Red-tailed Hawk

2 UA
2 UB
2 UR

Total 821
