Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch
08-27-99
Hawks have slowed a little, but still trickle through. A little extra for tonight's report, but not part of the watch official count: Glenn Swartz reports 13 Mississippi kites flew over his house tonight around 7:00 pm CST to bed down near Pollywog Pond (just a few miles away from the watch site). Glenn's house is on the Nueces River bluff about a half a mile E/NE of the Hazel Bazemore hawk watch site. Could be a good chance of seeing the kites Saturday morning at liftoff for some nice low looks.
Here's the watch report from the hill tonight. How about those swallow-tailed kites? Darn if they didn't rack up another one!
