This morning started out with a comfortable but steady accipiter count.
The variety was also welcomed with seven species before 9:00. The winds
were from all directions today starting with a slow southerly and worked
arond the tower back to southwest winds at roosting time. There was a
nice look at a couple of Merlins and a Red-Tailed Immy.
In case everyone has not been aware of the mosquito blossom left in
Frances' wake, it is something to prepare for if birding at Bolivar
Flats, High Island, or Anahuac. The good news is that there are NO
MOSQUITOS on the tower unless someone does not brush off on the second
level. It should be noted that these individuals are cleansed with a
2/4.
