Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch, Fall 1998

Report Date:  11/02/98

Perfect weather for hawk watching today; for anything, actually. Nice and cool and DRY (driness being a real boon any time down here on the Texas coast!). Tomorrow should be just as nice; so the weather forecasters say!

Glenn says raptors were a tad slow, though the TV's came through in nice numbers. Still a few straggler broadies and Swainson's about; Smith Point's been getting some every so often as well.

The best birds of the day might be the dual sightings of blue jays AND green jays at the watch! Not at the same time, but during the same watch day. For two species that seldom cross paths, that is one nice log entry for the day; way to go, Glenn! Nice day bird list, too (or "dickie birds" as we call 'em down here).
