Hazel Bazemore Hawk Watch, Fall 1998

Report Date:  09/16/98

The watch was opened for one hour today (9/16). I just couldn't stand being
rained out, so I went out and hoped for the best. No luck on it clearing,
no luck on seeing a hawk. I did hear "TEX"(one of our resident
red-shouldered) calling.

All was not lost, bird seed was put out for the inca and ground doves, and
ground squirrels. Hummingbird feeder had the usual buff-bellied and
ruby-throat hummingbird.

Hopefully all this rain will blow out by tomorrow, so we can get on with
counting something, hawks or whatever else that comes along.
