Back to hawk watching as usual; goodbye TS Frances!
Interesting aerial dogfights today between a harrier that objected to
a
passing
peregrine, which in turn whipped around faster than you can believe
and came
back on the harrier's "six o'clock" and took a dive or three right
back at
it.
Those harriers sure do enjoy their little dives; saw three others go
by,
passing the flight time by "play-diving" on each other.
Congratulations to PJ from Sweden who managed to find our little hawk
watch,
then added some more life birds to his list. We were all thrilled he
got to
see
a groove-billed ani that settled in nearby bushes (they breed in the
park),
and
were reminded of just how much we take for granted when he noted that
the
ruby-throated hummingbird flitting around a feeder Glenn put out was
also a
lifer.
