Directions (map below): The Retama Room is just inside the main door -
turn right and enter one of the two doors. The facilities are much
improved over what we have been doing. WI FI is available so maybe we
can do some internet tutorials together as a learning experience.
The Central Library is easy to reach. It is at the southwest corner of
Tanchua and Comanche in the down town area.
If one is coming over the high bridge into Corpus Christi, take the
right curve onto IH37, then immediately exit at the Tanchua Street exit,
turn south, proceed 4 or 5 blocks to Comanche, turn right on Comanche,
then left into the parking lot. And yes, there is a security guard on
duty.
If one is coming by the way of Crosstown, just exit on Comanche, turn
right and proceed to the library. The parking lot entrance is on the
right before reaching the building.
If one is coming by the way of Ocean Drive and Shoreline, turn left on
Park, proceed up the hill by the Church of the Good Shepherd to
Carancahua, turn right, proceed to Comanche, turn left, then proceed to
the library.
If one is coming by the way of IH37 from Calallen, take the Buffalo
exit, proceed to Tanchua, right on Tanchua, proceed to Comanche, turn
right on Comanche, then left into the parking lot.
If one needs an after meeting meal in this part of town, try the U&I
restaurant at the corner of Kenny and Water, Whataburger on Shoreline,
on the Burger King at the end of IH37 and Water.
